Questions & Answers

Below are some of the more common questions we receive, so hopefully, these will help! If not, pop us a message!

1). Do you have to be a member at Parklands to use the Lounge Bar?

A: No, you don't have to be a member to use the Lounge Bar at Parklands.

2). Do you have to be a member to hire Rooms or the Main Field?

A: No, you don't need to be a member to hire a room.

3). Do you host Parties for Teenagers?

A: No. This is due to concerns over the underage consumption of alcohol.

4). Can I bring my own Catering for my event?

A: We don't usually allow outside catering. This is due to potential issues whereby if there are problems with the food, we have difficulties tracing the source of the ingredients, and the method of cooking. In the past, Parklands has been blamed for catering issues that were provided externally by the event organiser. Consequently, we've taken the decision to provide our own catering, so that we know exactly where the food has been sourced, and how it has been prepared.

5). What times can I book my event/sessions for?

A: Parklands is open from 9am (the Bar has its own separate opening hours), so you can book an event from 9am onwards.

6). Can I turn up at your premises to make a booking?

A: We'd rather that you either email us with details of your booking request, or call us. You can email us on office@parklandsclub.co.uk or call us on 01302 349881 (leave a message if no one is available). This is because Parklands staff are carrying out administrative duties, cleaning, and/or involved in meetings. There may also be events taking place. However, once we've confirmed the date you're seeking is available to book, you may request to view the premises in person.

7). Can we negotiate the price?

A: The prices have been set at what we feel the business can sustain. As with everyone else, our costs have increased across the board, with suppliers increasing their prices, and with Parklands having to renew their energy contracts during the height of the energy crisis, we have tried to offer the best prices that we can.

8). I've tried to make a booking, but my dates aren't available. Why is that?

A: This can depend on various things. Friday nights and Saturday nights are premium days in hospitality, for example They can often be booked up to a year in advance, so you have to be quick to request a booking, especially for those days/nights. You can still enquire about your preferred date, even if it's a Friday night or Saturday night. We do have them available. There's no harm in trying, after all! Dates in November and December are usually premium dates too, given they are during the festive season.

9.). I need to cancel my event. How much notice do I need to give?

A:  This will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and provided at the time of booking confirmation.
