The Rifle and Pistol Club caters for all ages, we have male and female shooters, disabled and able bodied however we do ask that all juniors are accompanied by a responsible adult.
Our cosy clubhouse is central heated with heating also on the range. We have an on site toilet and wheel chair facilities.
Access to the range is four times a week, Mondays,Wednesdays,Fridays and Saturdays.
We shoot .22 rim fire rifle, prone position at a distance of 25 yds. At present in this dicipline we are shooting in Yorkshire, Leeds and Sheffield competitions. In the near future we will be competing in a postal Eley competition.
We also shoot air rifle and air pistol both .177 and .22 calibre, air rifle shoots range from 6 metres to 20 metres.
At present we are shooting in Yorkshire and Leeds competitions with air weapons and also in various house competitions.
Shooting outside with air weapons is possible providing the weather allows. Indoors we have electric controlled targets and can accomodate five members shooting at the same time.
I must stress that we only shoot targets, it is a target shooting club.
Any person wishing to join will become a probationary member, the probationary period lasts six months, only after six months will the person be put forward to be a full member. Every probationary member must be accompanied onto the range by a full member until the full member is confident they are competent to shoot unaccompanied.
Any person with a police record will not be allowed to become a member.
The joining fees are :- £25 per adult
£10 per junior
We also pay £2 each week we visit the range bearing in mind that the £2 allows you up to four visits that week if you so desire.
When you have been accepted as a full member the membership fee is £15 per year.
Insurance is a further £23.50 per year.
